Culture and tradition are the main elements of the spirituality of a nation. Vrancea, from ancient times, part of the national history and culture, has rich spiritual treasures of artistic values.
Also now in the eastern Romania, Vrancea county is the holder of old traditional crafts: shepherding, smoked curd cheese production, wood carving (small cooperage, patterns and puppeteer curd, shrines, household objects), pottery, weaving linen, towels and manufacturing (sewing, embroidery) folk costumes, the building of folk instruments (flute, pipe, bagpipes, alpenhorn, ocarina and many others) and making the authentic traditional masks, practiced especially in the mountains, artistic processing of vegetal fibers and not at last the art of making wine with its excellent local varieties.
A long tradition in the villages of Carpathian Mountains is the art of using plant. Man of the mountains always loved nature, because it has been his only support. Offered him shelter, food and in difficult moments cures for diseases that he suffered. Many women use plants to make various medicines, which were practically unable to otherwise obtain because of the distance from the city. These ointments have some secret recipes that have been preserved as an inheritance from mother to daughter.
The traditional products, which every householder from the mountains produce in their own farm (such as: honey, smoked curd cheese, wine, plum or other fruits brandy, smoked meats, cheeses of different types, syrups, fruits dried or smoked) are natural, ecological, without the use of preservatives, additives or synthetic dyes. Preparations are produced in harmony with nature and in no way affect the environment.
Mastile populare de lemn sunt o tradiție din vremuri stravechi, fiind prezente in mitologia si folclorul romanesc de pe meleagurile Țarii Vrancei. Confecționarea mastilor intregeste atmosfera specifica sarbatorilor de iarna, mastilere prezentand diverse personaje: mos, baba, ursar, general, sanitar, padurar.
Folk craftsmen make masks from animal fur and leather, woven fabric or thick cloth, clay, wood carving, shell lime, birch or pine, metal, thick rope, feathers, corn husk, buttons, beads , beans and maize and many other materials that are no longer useful to the human household.

Smoked cheese
A traditional product , very good and specific area is famous smoked cheese , which producers prepare it according to the methods ancestors , keeping quality and taste 100 % natural . Folk Textiles
Artistic weaving has a special place in Vrancea traditional art . Weaving and sewing were done in the family and basic occupations were women.
