Trees of Romania
In Europe virgin forests have disappeared almost entirely, Romania remains one of the last areas where you can visit these ancient forests. Romania has some of the largest forests in Europe and a wide variety of tree species. Romania still has 400,000 hectares of virgin forest and 27% of Romania’s territory is covered by forests, approximately 6.5 million hectares. Most of them are found in the Carpathians. The landscape of Romania and many varied climatic influences lead to a great diversity of tree species that make up majestic forests awaiting visitors to admire the beauty.
